Meeting with Federal Agencies

Dear Diary,

As a way to promote my platform as First Lady, I have decided to visit several federal agencies and meet with their staff. Perhaps one of the most interesting so far was my visit to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It started off quite well when an audience member called out, “We love you!” as I began speaking. Can’t get enough of that positive feedback! And perhaps it was in part because I’m an inspiring speaker and in part because I was preaching to the choir, but I had the people in that meeting with me the whole time. Granted, the purpose of my trip was to generate interest in Barack’s plans for supporting these agencies. But like I said, it was wonderful to be so well-received.

Not to mention, visiting the various schools and talking to the kids was so fun! They’re so darling and I know it means a great deal to have such important figures coming in to talk to them. I look forward to getting to talk to more kids – it’s so important. And it certainly is the least I can do as First Lady.
