Bush called Obama

Dear Diary,

In other news, Bush just called Barack to congratulate him on winning the presidency, Again, Barack was so kind and civil to him on the phone, but I just wanted to say, “BUSH - YOU’RE FIRED!” Probably wouldn’t be appropriate, but I can’t help but think about it. I wonder if Bush will enter the public stage again, now that we know McCain has lost.

Barack is writing his acceptance speech right now. I don’t want to bother him, so I’ll get to hear it along with the rest of the nation. That will be fun – to get to react to his speech along with the rest of the nation.

Yours always,
Michelle

Dear Diary

Mccain has just called Barack to concede the election. Barack was so wonderful and calm and gracious in accepting the presidency. But I am secretly screaming and cheering on the inside!!

Dear Diary,

Barack and I are at a celebratory rally, but I had to take a break to come back and write in my diary. But this is wonderful news! After learning about Pennsylvania, I didn’t think I could get any happier. Until I found out that we also won Ohio! WOW!! Basically, we’ve won the election. I’m so thrilled!!

Michelle Obama, First Lady

I must resist screaming this in public.

Yours Always,
Michelle

Dear Diary,

Such sad news today. Madelyn died early this morning. I can’t believe Barack’s grandmother is gone. She really was a wonderful woman. And it would have meant the world to her to see her grandson elected president of the United States. And more than that, the first black president of the United States! Sasha and Malia are so upset and have cried about it a lot. I know this sounds insensitive, but I feel that Barack and I really haven’t had time to grieve while on the campaign trail. I expected we will finally be able to process and deal with this after Barack has won and when he can truly relax.

To anyone who thinks that Sarah Palin was a good pick for Vice President – ha! Stick with that belief. I hope they go so far as to nominate her as the Republican candidate in 2012. I would love to run against her. And I know Barack would love to run against her if he decides to serve another term in 2012. I’m ok with him serving another term, as long as I am the Democratic nominee in 2016.

Dear Diary,

I must say, I am just raking in the votes for Barack. I’ve done yet another successful magazine interview, and judging by its wild success, I think it’s safe to say that my fans love me! Plus, I know people would rather see me as First Lady rather than Cindy McCain anyway. Honestly, she doesn’t even look human with all of her obvious plastic surgery.. I at least look like a mom in touch with her kids. I even said that in an interview – that I’m not going to play a large role in the Obama Administration, but instead continue to be "Mom-in-Chief." I knew the magazine’s readers would just eat that up.

Little do they know that I plan to be a force to reckon with in the White House. I’m not just going to go there and do nothing. I have to get in the spotlight and become a national hero of sorts, and then use that for when I run for president.

Dear Diary,

Have begun considering my post-election plans, given the fact I’m a shoe-in as First Lady. I do like the way that sounds: Michelle Obama, First Lady. That would look great on business cards. I’ll have to look into that. But I can’t just be a Laura Bush of First Ladies. I will be seen as an icon, like Eleanor Roosevelt and Jackie Kennedy. My hope is to achieve the same status as they did in their fields: political activism, fashion, and entertainment. I’ve decided to devise a list of ways to gain more publicity and status.

Michelle Obama’s Top-Five Strategies for a Successful Term as First Lady

1. More classy outfits. My J. Crew outfit has already garnered much publicity and comparisons to Jackie Kennedy. I can’t get enough of the media spotlight, as long as it’s positive. No more of these fabricated snack-expenditure stories.
2. Influential social programs.

Dear Diary,

Can hardly believe that the election is one week away. After all this campaigning, I’m beginning to feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I really do believe that Barack could win this election, as long as there isn’t some plot to steal the election. Have to admit, I have been concerned about this “Perfect Match” business. After all, it has already disenfranchised so many voters in significant swing states like Florida! And then there are all those voters who were purged from the Colorado voting records by Secretary of State, Mike Coffman. Sure hope they win that lawsuit.

Dear Diary,

I had to deal with all those right-wing bloggers claiming that I’d enjoyed a $447.39 snack consisting of caviar, sparkling wine, lobsters, and other gourmet food. And yet, the most ridiculous part of the whole story is that I wasn’t even staying at that hotel! How desperate do these bloggers have to be? And yet, there’s hardly a peep about the fact that the McCain campaign has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Sarah Palin’s image! $4,000 haircuts and new outfits for $150,000?! It’s amazing that someone doesn’t bring this to the national media’s attention. After all, John Edwards had a $400 haircut, which now pales in comparison to Palin’s new do. And, the people who donated that money should know where it’s going. Really telling how the McCain campaign is willing to fork out this much money for beauty. Shows the world where they see her value.

Dear Diary,

Well, Barack’s going to Hawaii. I’m not going with him, so as to stay in the states and possibly take over some of the campaigning. May join him, if things go from bad to worse though. Sasha and Malia are scared, having a hard time imagining life without their Great-Grandma. I think Barack is feeling the same way. So hard to have to deal with this in the middle of the campaign. But perhaps it will bring us closer to the American people. Not to sound insensitive, but to reiterate that we experience the same issues they do.

Can’t say I’m surprised that Colin Powell is supporting Barack. He’s a sensible man. Understands good politics. And probably is trying to restore his image. But it’s pretty low campaign advisors, Rush Limbaugh, and others to assume that Powell is doing this for race-related reasons. If that were the case, he would have declared his support for Barack LONG ago. Powell’s basis is for four main reasons:

1.
